Is there a way to modify a font's attributes? I.e the font Agenda doesn't offer tabular lining, yet I would like to add this attribute to the font manually. Is this possible to do by code perhaps?

I have an issue with Pantone colors saved in ASE files. When I save a Pantone color in an ASE file.. then later import that ASE file into a new document... all the pantones come up as RGB lab colors and not the saved Pantone color.

I have tried saving them in illustrator and then import into InDesign and I also tried saving the ase file from InDesign and come up with the same results.

Is there a plug in I need for this to work properly?

@Uberdada: There are slight differences in the scripting model between CS4 and CS5. But those differences shouldn't affect the simple tutorial scripts like "Improved Hello World". And, as far as I know, the tutorial is up to date for CS5. I suspect that something else is going on.

I decided to learn Javascripting for InDesign and downloaded the CS5 tutorial. However some of the example scripts it supplies don't work (eg. ImprovedHelloWorld). Looking at the CS4 tutorial it looks identical. Is there a difference between CS4 & 5 in the way the use Javascripts? If so it is frustrating that the tutorial isn't up to date.

While CS3 and CS4 may launch, there are issues with the newer implementation of Java, printing and font management that make them less than stable. Even the code in some of the plug-ins can fail!

Lion is not an 'upgrade' for those who use their computers for business purposes, and with the removal of Rosetta cuts a lot of ties to the past. Every time Apple releases an update, there is a distinct possibility that older software that worked yesterday will not work afterwards.

I'm surprised they haven't come out with an option to separate pages like this, without them displaying as physically separated. I am doing a 200+ page catalog and sections might change in the middle of the spread. This helps out a lot. Thank you.

Also if you keeps Spreads checked in documnet settings, when exporting uncheck the Spreads box in the PDF and or Print window that pops up. It brings all spreads into single pages and nothing gets deleted. hope that helps. :)

The default font is established when you firth open a document. It will remain Times New Roman (or whatever) for that document. Changes mentioned above will only apply for new documents you open - after the default has been changed.

Thank you so much for your clear explanation of this! I had been searching Google for an answer and yours was the only successful one! (A million answers including "drop shadow, of course) I'm a complete newbie and discovered D+D by my own intuition but hadn't known whether it does something different than place (Because of the wording "Dropping from X).
